HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have since yesterday a HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 which could double side scan of documents. If I use double side scan of a double side printed document the top pages are  blured which means no text is written but I have some colored stripes in it. So my question is how I could correctly scan double side documents?

Or do I have any thing forgotten to remove? I have not yet seen that I have some forgotten to remove from the scanner.

Hello,

thank you very much for your answer. I decided to call the HP support and with her help we found out, that the scanner did not work correctly. So today I become a replacement for the printer over the reseller. The new printer works as expected.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Ralf

Hi @ralfsch,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing issues with the scan. I'd like to help!

If the copy is working fine, follow the below instruction.

Make sure the scan to the computer is enabled.

To enable scan to computer, try the steps below:

1: Search Windows for your printer model name, and click the printer name in the list of results. HP Printer Assistant opens.

2: Click Scanner Actions, and then click Manage Scan to Computer.

3: Click Enable to activate the scan to computer option.

Try to scan.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check the scan issue.

Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

If your printer is not on the list, turn it off and on and then click Retry.

If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

Try to scan.

Delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, following the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for an HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-7740-wide-format-all-in-... to download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Try to scan.

Keep me posted, on how it goes!
