Hi @Ch6419,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a Copy issue with your HP Officejet Pro 6835 E-All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist better:

  • Are you able to scan?
  • Do you get any errors when you try to copy?
  • What type of document are you trying to copy?

If copies come out as a black page, troubleshoot power and mechanical issues with the scanner mechanism.

Step 1: Reset the printer and check the power source

  • Reset the printer to calibrate the scanner mechanism, and then check the power source to confirm the printer is getting enough power to operate the copier.
  • Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the power source, and then wait 30 seconds.
  • If you previously connected the power cord to a power strip or multi-plug outlet adapter, reconnect the cord directly to a wall outlet to ensure the printer is getting enough power.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  • Load the original document or photo, then start a copy job.
  • If the issue persists, connect the printer power cord to a different wall outlet to determine if the original outlet is causing the issue.
  • If the issue persists with a different wall outlet, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Check the scanner bar functionality

  • Perform a visual test of the scanner bar and light for mechanical issues.
  • Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
  • Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy icon.
  • If the scanner light does not move or illuminate, the scanner mechanism has gone bad.

If the issue still persists, I'm sending out a private message to assist you with the next course of action.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
