Hi, just bought this new printer, but scanning options dont allow to save as PDF which is what I need. I there any way to fix this rather than having to convert the document from eg jpeg to  PDF which is more for me to do !

THANK YOU. iVE DONE THAT HOWEVER IT ONLY SEEMS TO LET ME EMAIL THE SCANNED PDF DOCUMENT AND i DONT WANT THT - i WANT TO SAVE IT TO MY LAPTOP FOLDER. excuse capitals!

Hi,

 

Have you installed printer software and drivers to your computer yet ? Please do that first using the CD which came with your printer. For computer(s) without ODD (CD/DVD drive), please download the following package and install to your computer(s)

 

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/oj6960/OJ6960__Full_WebPack_1979.exe

 

After that, please

 

(a) Click printer icon on desktop,

(b) Select Scan a Document or Photo,

(c) Select PDF icon (called shortcut) on the left.

 

You can also scan from printer and select Document, not Photo because by default ith will scan Photos as PDF files.

No, no need to type a command. Please

 

(a) Put CD to your computer ODD,

(b) Open the CD and run Setup,

(c) Select USB or wireless,

(d) Follow on screen instructions

Hi,

 I presume you are scanning from "HP Scan" (which can be found in the apps in your PC under "HP" folder after you have installed the printer software).  After printer completed scanning, you can just click "Save" and immediately "Window Explorer" will appear and you can save to a folder in your PC.

Hi ThembelinaPM,

 

I forgot to mention that in the "HP Scan" menu, under "Scan Shortcuts"  (left side of menu), you need to select "Save as PDF" and not "Email as PDF".

Used to be able to scan from twain scnner on my old HP printer, now I have a new one HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 it seems I have to use the TEDIOUS! scan feature in the desktop printer icon!

Not on!

How do I get to simplfy the scanning option to pdf like the twain aplication?
