Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Easynote LJ71
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to scan and message keeps appearing 'No computer found'. Have used repair system and full removal/install both CD and internet download from HP support and find only basic drivers installed - i.e no auto document feeder available which I do use on a regular basis. Re-starting does not help as next time above appears again - it seems something is removing the scanning side of things. Any solutions out there would be great. I'm  based in the UK  using  our operating system NOT a MAC.

Hello,

Please use
HP Print and Scan Doctor to solve the issue automatically.

Please check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service to see if it is working properly by doing the following:

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows flag and the R key simultaneously. The Run window opens.
  2. Type services.msc and OK. The Services (local) window opens.
  3. Double-click on Windows Image Acquisition, then click on the Connection tab.
  4. Check Local System Account and Allow the service to interact with the office.
  5. Click on the Dependencies tab and check that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Kernel Hardware Detection exist in the first window.
  6. Click on the General tab, and restart the service by clicking on Stop, then Start.
  7. Close the Services window.
  8. Try to scan.

If the Kernel hardware detection dependency does not exist, please add it as follows:

  1. Simultaneously press the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  2. Type regedit, then OK. The registry editor opens.
  3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Services and select StiSvc.
  4. In the right pane double click on Depend on service.
  5. You will find RpcSs, just add ShellHWDetection underneath, then press Enter and then click OK.
  6. Close the registry editor.
  7. Try to scan.

If the issue persists, please follow the following procedure:
1. Uninstall printing software:

  1. Unplug the USB cable at the back of the printer, if necessary.
  2. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  3. Type appwiz.cpl, then OK. The Programs and Features window opens.
  4. Click the right mouse button on HP OfficeJet 4650 series Basic Software, then Uninstall and Yes.

Note: If the software uninstall process does not start or an error displays while uninstalling, download Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed from the Microsoft website, and then try uninstalling again.

  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall of the printer.
  6. Restart the computer.

2. Launch the registry editor:

  1. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  2. Type regedit, then OK. The registry editor opens.
  3. Develop HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, click with the right mouse button on Hewlett-Packard and Delete. (If the PC is HP-branded, develop Hewlett-Packard and remove Digital Imaging)

3. Delete the HP OfficeJet 4650 series folder in the way:

  • C: \Program Files\HP

Regret to say I'm still getting same message - seems not able to connect when downloading on wireless neither scan or printing are working. Also no connection when try cable. Checked all connections but can't find anything amiss that I'm aware of.

Hello and thank for your return,

In order to palliate this problem, please assign a fixed IP address to the printer as follows:

    1. In the printer control panel screen, touch the Wireless icon () to retrieve the printer IP address.
    2. Launch a web page, and then type this address in the address bar and Enter. The printer Web interface opens.
    3. Click the Network tab, then under Wireless (802.11), click Network Address (IPv4).
    4. Check the Manual IP option, and then press the button to Suggest a Manual IP Address.
    5. Once the first 3 fields are filled in, check the Manual DNS Server.
    6. Enter the address 8.8.8.8 as Manual Preferred DNS Server.
    7. Enter the address 8.8.4.4 as Manual Alternate DNS Server.
    8. Click on Apply and OK.
    9. Try to print and scan.

In case of need, do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,
