Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues? 

 

In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below:

 

If you are using HP's Solution centre, then

 

The full feature driver for HP printers released in 2010 or earlier includes HP Solution Center software. You can start scan jobs from the computer or the printer, change scan quality settings, save scans as PDF files, and more.

Here, click on advanced settings, and there you'll be able to change the resolution.

 

Please reply with the details for further assistance.
