I originally posted this question as a reply to a solution that had already been provided by Jeet_Singh to LAN-HP and the issue with the Scan using HP Printer Assistant (8/18-19/19) (HP Envy 5640 (USB connection) - Scan Issue using HP Printer Assistant dtd 8/17/19.  There were specific steps offered that I followed without any success.  I still do not have the use of my HP Printer Assistant and after following the steps provided have lost one of my Network Printer and Eprint apps.  I am sure I will recover them in time but the most pressing issue I have at the moment is the loss of the HP Printer Assistant.  How do I get the HP Printer Assistant working again on my printer?  I click on it and it comes up with printer selections, I click on the selection and then it goes away.  I have completed a "clean installation" of the software without success.  Is there anything else of what can I do to get the HP Printer Assistant to work again?

Here are the steps I have already performed (as provided by Jeet_Singh from the Post noted above)

"Let's uninstall the printer from the root level and then reinstall it.
Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
Now check for issue resolution.
If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
Restart your computer.
Please click here to download and install the full feature software for this printer.
Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation."

Without success.  What else can I do?

Thank you...

I am pleased to Post that after the Windows 10 Update 1903 yesterday that my issue with the HP Printer Assistant has been resolved.  It is now working exactly the way it is intended.  Also, the update corrected a couple of the issues identifying my printers from the manual correction I was attempting.

This is no longer an issue for me and has been "resolved"

Thank you...
