We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Officejet 6830
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I've recently moved and set up a new wireless network in my home and my printer will no longer stay connected or recognize the scanner.

Issues (all of these are new issues, this wireless set up worked like a charm before moving):

--Printer never stays connected. I have to reset everything to get it to print one thing. (I just attempted a troubleshoot on this with a Manual Static IP address - fingers crossed)

--After attempting the recent troubleshoot, I can longer get my computer to recognize the scanner. While adding the printer manually using the HP wizard, it only recognizes the print function. I can no longer scan wirelessly to my compter.

All of these things I've attempted to tinker with for two months now and I'm literally at my wits end and need this to work. Oh, I also had a major "printhead error" on this printer and it was under warranty due to recall and I just got it replaced with an identical model (refurbished) and I'm still running into the same exact connection issues.  I considered  this being a MAC problem except for the fact that this worked perfectly before I moved.

UPDATE: Found out that the entire issue was my Wifi Router (or router). Turns out, there was a power surge and my Router never acted the same since. This power outage/surge happened very shortly after moving into our new place.

Replaced the Router (and modem) and everything has acted perfectly since. The Printer stays connected to all computers and devices at all times, no matter how long anything sleeps or timesout.

Good as new.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

From the Applications folder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan or HP Utility app.
Delete HP Scan or HP Easy Scan or HP Utility  by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Ensure the latest software is installed, use this link for your printer:

macOS X : HP Easy Scan

Also, make sure that your drivers are up to date

> Click on the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update
>Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

Hope that helps!

I followed those steps but unfortunately it seems that there is still a connection issue preventing these utilities from recognizing this printer (especially as a scanner too). I honestly just don't have the patients to reset the connection every single time I want to use it.  Here is the error i get every time I try to print or use the utility. Printer is always on.

HI @jenndino

Can you try this :

macOS 10 12 Sierra: Adding a printer using IP address

Hope that will get you connected to the printer.

Connecting via IP address also does not work.

Braintstorming: is it possible that with my printer being in another room - that it's actually losing connection with my Router? Would that be an issue? I want to ask to make sure it's worth it before I move my entire set up.

I'm a complete loss here.
