HP Laserjet J4850 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP Officejet J4580 all-in-one is turned on but computers on Network say it is offline and turned off, even though printer is turned on and green light shows it is on.  I am unable to print from it as my computers, I have 4 on home network, that have worked with my All-in-One for over 10 years now. Today after printing a Calendar page out for my Mom it just stopepd printing and all of my computers that share this printer says the printer is offline.

I have turned off printer and turned it back on. I have disconnected all plus and reconnected them into printer. I have used different outlets and also different USB ports on computer and same issue. All computers on netwrok say printer is offline and when I run the printer troubleshooting test it comes back stating that the printer is turned off please turn on. I turn printer off and back on and run test again and it still says that printer is turned off even through the printer is turned on and the light is green and the printer makes all the normal start up sounds as usual.

It still scans and prints from a page placed on the scanner but it will not allow me to print from any of the Network computers as the network computers say it is turned off and offline. I have both Windows and Mac computers and they all say the same thing. I have updated the drivers also and same issue. Internet is working fine.

I solved the issue myself. The one thing I did not check before askingfor help is what was causing the problem. It was my cable that conencted the printer to my computer. I replaced the cable with another cable I had in my home and that resolved the issue. Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it.
