HP Print and Support will not run. On launching the app the screen just goes grey

I understand how  it must be to launch the HP Print and Support app and only see a grey screen, especially when you just want to get your HP Smart Tank 7605 working smoothly with your MacBook Air

 

Could you confirm a couple of details for me:

 

Is the issue happening every time you open the app, or only occasionally?

Do you see any error messages at all, or just the blank grey screen?

Have you recently updated macOS or the HP software before this started?

 

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

 

Restart the Mac: Sometimes a fresh reboot clears temporary glitches.

 

Update HP Software: Make sure you’re running the latest version of HP Print and Support compatible with macOS Sonoma 14.8.5.

 

Reset the App: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Print and Support app.

 

Check Printer Connection: Ensure your Smart Tank 7605 is properly connected via Wi-Fi or USB and showing as available in System Preferences.

 

Run HP Smart/HP App : If Print and Support continues to fail, the HP Smart app/HP App  is often more stable on macOS and can handle setup, diagnostics, and printing tasks.
