We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I have a new HP 4729 and everything works fine except when I click on the desktop printer icon (HP Printer Assistant) and select the “Print & Scan” option, only the print is shown – not the scan as it does with my HP 2600. I’ve reloaded firmware, drivers and used HP Printer and Scan Doctor with the same results that the scan drivers are not being recognized. However, I can scan by using HP Printer and Scan Doctor during the test scan which is time-consuming and problematic. Ultimately I’m told to contact support. However, this always leads back to the US and they won’t offer any help being I retired in Thailand. Even Thailand HP supports eventually leads back to the US. This is one vicious circle at an attempt in futility! Any suggestions? Finally, I try to add a "screen-shot" of the problem that initially shows but then turns into some triangle when I post ....

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win 10 PC to the HP Deskjet 4729 printer(Wireless connectivity)

If the issue persists, uninstall the HP driver for the HP 4729 printer completely.

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 
  2.  Select your HP Printer 
  3.  Select Uninstall 
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo. 
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab 
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 
  10.  Select Ok 
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try to scan.

Respectfully, as I stated earlier, the aforementioned solutions were already performed. Nonetheless, I followed your recommendations and tried it twice, with the same results!

What happens when you try using the Hp Smart app?

Try creating a new test user account on the PC and install the full featured driver to check if the issue persists.

To know how to create a new local user account, refer to this document.
