I followed the instruction  provided in HP Printers - A [software component] will damage your computer message displays when printing or while installing (macOS) and uninstalled all the HP software. But i can't find now software for my printer at HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads to reinstall it on my Mac. HP Easy Start didn't help either - pointed back at HP Support.

Not much help for you I am afraid  but I have a similar problem - with scanning on an MFP M127: I uninstalled, found the HP Easy Install download and tried to re-install the drivers but then got the same "will damage your computer" message.  Can't find any way to ask HP about this.

I had the same problem on Mac Book Air with MAC OS Catalina 10.15.7... so I took the software off my computer and the installation of new software fails to complete ... my printer is an HP Envy 411C... Printer still works from my phone...

I had the same exact problem as you all (i have a printer without a driver that matches my updated operating system and got the same fear-inducing messages and inability to print) and gave up on printing for months. BUT, then I found this answer to a slightly different question and it worked. They suggest installing through the AirPrint driver, which I don't have So I skipped that part and it still worked.

What worked for me was just part of the answer:

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name."

They go on to say print from AirPrint which i never got around to using because it worked without it.

I hope you see this and it helps!
