Hello,
I have just purchased the above scanner and installed the HP Scan app. When the app starts it indicates a new version of the firmware - 0604y24(FW2.28) - is available. I have downloaded the firmware but upon running the .exe file I get the following message:
0
Device not found!!
End program...
Update Failed: After 20 second will close windows
The scanner is connected via ethernet. Does the .exe have to be supplied with arguments to run? Or perhaps run from a cmd window? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi,
you don't need this update!
Please read the PDF file, readme .... pdf, update only for WiFi.
Here is the link to the ZIP file: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/swdetails/hp-scanjet-pro-n4600-fnw1-scanner/2100674455/swItemId...
You can still try, but then use USB and remove the Ethernet cable.
Kind Regards
