Hello, I'm writing because I just finish setup of my new ENVY5010 but I have problem in scanning. On my PC there are two users account. I set up HP SMART on my one and everything is working correctly. Then I entered in the second one and when I try to make scan I get errors and I'm not able to complete the operation.  Even if I get error on HP smart, the printer start scanning and become busy but the result is not shown on computer screen.

I was try to find solution on internet but I have not found similar problem.

Thank you in advance for help.

I believe there might be a workaround to the HP Smart only liking one user logged into the application.

Whether this works depends on

➡️  Whether your printer supports ePrint (printer email address) - it does

Print from your Android, iOS, or Amazon Fire device with the HP Mobile printing app.

Read this document first - List of printers and supported applications

➡️  Whether your HP Smart supports "Print Everywhere" -- compatibility document indicates the printer does include "Print Everywhere"

AND / OR

➡️  Whether your printer supports ePrint - printer does support ePrint

➡️  Whether the workaround of sending print jobs to the printer via its email address is acceptable to the user -- ??

Can't answer that one.  Using ePrint is not the same as having full access to the printer software or the HP Smart App.  Using ePrint is certainly usable in some cases; it is not the "same" thing by any measure.

How to set / add user to "allowed" senders who can use your printer via ePrint

Open HP Smart for Windows

Click on the gray Printer Settings icon / box

HP_Smart_W10_Start_Screen_1HP_Smart_W10_Start_Screen_1

Under Settings

Select Print Anywhere

IF the setup is working as expected, see a menu page titled "Manage Print Anywhere"

Select to enable / switch on Print Anywhere (optional)

AND / OR

Add the user to the "Allowed senders" list for your printer

Add the "other" user's email address to the "Allowed" users list, that is, those email addresses that are allowed to send jobs from their email to your printer's own email address ( for example, somename @hpeprint.com )

What if the  "Print Anywhere" is not working, doesn't show up, hangs, or acts weird...

If desired (or necessary) you can add this new user's email address by Logging in your HP Smart / HP Connected account.

So, well - that's not a great solution.

Here's the thing - adding the user to the printer's email and using ePrint is a workaround.

The solution is not intended as a "fix all" to give you what you want.

After reading about the application, I am not convinced what you want is possible.  In other words, what you want might not be be available / possible with the current version of HP Smart.

If I do find something more definitive - or an actual correction - I will edit this message or post back.
