HP says I should open HP Scan Assistant on my laptop, but it's not on my laptop.  How do I get i?

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

 

HP Scan Assistant isn't a separate download anymore -it's now part of the HP Smart app.

 

Here's how to get it working:

 

  1. Install HP Smart

  2. Set up your printer

    • Open HP Smart and sign in (or create an HP account).

    • Select Add Printer and follow the prompts to connect your HP DeskJet 4155e via Wi-Fi or USB.

  3. Scan using HP Smart

    • Once your printer is added, click the Scan tile in HP Smart.

    • This is the new version of what HP previously called "Scan Assistant".

 

Summary: HP has retired the old "HP Scan" or "Scan Assistant" programs -all scanning functions are now integrated within HP Smart.
