HP Scan WITHOUT making an HP account

HP now forces you to create an obnoxious HP account to use certain features? Is there a way around this?

Seems the last few latest versions of HP scan now require an HP account to scan?

We have some 400 / 425, 426 and 428 printers along with many other models 7740 etc for peoples offices. I do NOT want each employee to have to make a ridiculous HP account to simply scan.

With these changes and others as of recent ( firmware updates not allowing 3rd party ink ( 1/4 to 1/2 the cost ) I am about ready to boycott HP all together.

Yes, you must do what is right for your situation.

True - HP Printers are protected by Dynamic Security that can prevent the use of non-HP cartridges or refilled cartridges that lack an HP chip in the cartridge.  That decision is an HP policy.  Not everyone is a fan -- we do not judge.

Unless for some reason, you know differently, then in the case of many printers and a supported version of Windows,

Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Installing the full driver includes HP scan and provides a foundation for installing and using additional scan apps and software.

HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant and HP Scan. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver. No Sign-in required.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
