Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

After downloading and installing the Windows update KB5020030 back in November, I found that the USB selection in the HP Scan software had changed from the initial USB selection to a "USB #2" selection. When clicking this selection, the software reports it cannot find the scanner. I made sure my scanner driver was current along with my USB drivers and controllers. There were no anomalies. The printer functions and software works just fine, so I know there is nothing wrong with my USB connection. Even the HP Smart software works with the scanner. Only the HP Officejet 5200 series - HP Scan software is affected.

I need to know if I am the only one affected by this issue, and if so, is there a work-around or solution? This is preventing me from installing the latest Windows feature update, and I would like to install it eventually. Included are screenshots of the HP Scan interface before and after the Windows 10 update. The USB link in the after is broken and does not see the scanner.

Thank you, I appreciate your assistance. Regretfully, I had already read this article and applied the solutions recommended. Basically, this article focuses on the printing, which is working fine with the new upgrade. It is only the HP Officejet 5200 series-HP Scan software that is affected.  And even that works if I use the HP Officejet 5200 (NET) selection. It is the HP Officejet 5200 (USB) selection that no longer works. This tells me there is something in the software code that doesn't play well with something in the new Windows upgrade. I'm thinking it's a USB setting of some sort. And since there has been no new updates to this software, there is not much I can do until a fix is applied. I'm just hoping one of your software engineers sees this as a problem and corrects it. Thank you.
