HP Envy Photo 6255
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When scanning from HP to email directly a different email app is brought up rather than my usual email program.  I wish it to email from my usual emaill program, not default.

Is this the printer or my computer settings?  I checked the default email on my computer, and it shows my usual email program.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

How are you trying to scan to email, using the app or from the computer?

Could you please brief the issue in detail?

Use this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-photo-6200-all-in-one-printer-series/9073045/model/9073... and follow Scan to email.

Or you can also use HP Smart App for the scan to email.

Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03561640 for using the HP Smart App

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

I believe it has to do with the computer set up from the “email scan” in the HP computer app. Do you know how i can change the email app that the Hp  scan defaults to?

Thanks for the reply,

Change the HP ePrint email address on your HP Connected account to one that is easier to remember.

NOTE:

If you turned off Web Services, restored the printer to factory settings, or performed a printer reset, you must turn on Web Services again to receive a new printer claim code and a new printer email address.

  1. Go to HP Connected, and then sign in to your account.

  2. Find the printer you want to modify, and then click Change Settings.

  3. Under ePrint Settings, click the tab with your printer's current email address.

    Click the printer's email address

  4. Type a new HP ePrint email address in the text box, and then click Submit.

    • If the address you typed is available, the address updates immediately.

    • If the address you typed is not available, try a different address, and then click Submit.

Type a new email address, and then click Submit

  5. Inform any allowed senders of the new HP ePrint email address.
