Hello @vbatale, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

You need to perform a factory reset  to clear a forgotten administrator password on an HP Scanjet Pro 4500 fn1 as there is no universal default password or simple button combination.

Reset Options

  • Check for Default / Blank Credentials: Try leaving the password field completely blank, or enter admin for both the username and password if prompted via the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Control Panel Factory Reset:
    1. On the scanner's physical control panel, navigate to Settings or Setup.
    2. Look for Service, Restore Defaults, or Factory Reset.
    3. Confirm the selection to wipe custom configurations and reset the device. (Note: If the control panel options are fully locked by the administrator password, this menu may be restricted).

Have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
