Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP ScanJet Pro N4600 fnw1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to be able to scan ALL jobs (scan to email, scan to network folder, scan to USB, etc.) to always scan pdf on paper size A4.  It seems to be impossible to configure this, which seems bizarre!

Scanning from computer, etc. is NOT an option.  Every user needs to be able to scan by default to any of the available options (email, usb, network, etc.) as and A4-sized pdf.

Any help is appreciated.

While I appreciate you taking the time to try to help, unfortunately, the answer did not provide useful information.

From your reply, one can understand you expected to find a default paper size selection to be available in the Profile configuration menus (e.g. for scan to e-mail).  There is none.  So, scanning is always "cut" where the scanner find the edge.  This is not what I need.

I need to be able to walk up to the scanner, place anything on the feeder or table, and have it scanned to a shared network folder in A4 pdf.  It is really disappointing that such an expensive scanner would not allow this!  This is simply software.  If I scan from computer, I CAN force an A4 paper size, pdf, etc.  So why can't I configure a profile to do the same?

I had an older HP scanner (Officejet 8600) which did allow this.  Why would a latest generation scanner have less functionality!?

As an aside note, it is also very irritating that the scanner does a hard shutdown at maximum 8 hours.  It should go into a deep sleep so I do not have to --AGAIN-- walk to the scanner to turn it on, wait about a minute for it to initialize, go back to my computer, load the software, and scan.

No problem - unhelpful message removed.

Perhaps someone who actually knows the ScanJet product will reach out.
