HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

as per title, after the update to Windows 10  20H2 (Build 19042.2075)  = KB5017380, the scanned image or document shows a noticeable heavy pattern of thin vertical colored lines (but the scanned text or image can be seen below).

I am sure that the HP Scanjet 300 scanner and the usb cable have no problems, because they work correctly on a different laptop, which has Windows 10 20H2 (Build 19042.2006).= KB5017308

I normally use the full standard software kit available on the HP website: HP Scanjet 300 Flatbed Photo scanner - Driver and SW with full functionality - setup_full_300 orig.exe

the bundle contains:
 - HP imaging device functions 14.5
 - HP scanjet 300
 - HP update
 - OCR Software by I.R.I.S 14.5

has anyone else had a similar problem?

it seems that something contained in 20H2 (Build 19042.2075) = KB5017380, is preventing the HP imaging device functions 14.5 program from working correctly.

the confirmation that the scanner is working correctly comes from the fact that using basic scanning programs (for example the standard Microsoft "SCAN App") it is able to correctly interpret everything.

unfortunately it does not have the minimum features (it does not allow you to select the saving area in A4 format)

unfortunately on the HP website the kits (the complete bundle and the reduced kit with only the drivers) are very old, and I fear that we cannot expect the release of updates that take into account the evolution of Windows 10

any support that will help not to throw the scanner as waste will be appreciated  🙂

thanks

As for the new window you will have to download the updated driver of the printer. As we were facing the same issues with the scanner which we use for the scanning of the document of email marketing software for small businesses. But when I downloaded the updated version of the driver for the scanner and installed it so it properly started working and haven't faced any issue in the new window.
