Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I purchased a HP Scanjet Enterprise Flow N7000 snw1 off ebay and when I tried to operate the buttons or go into settings the device would show a HP loading screen for a period of time then display a red screen with the words "The system is not Ready". The device was recognized by the computer as a ScanJet N7000 but nothing else worked on the device and the scanner software didn't work. I thought I got scammed, and the seller probably knew the device was in this condition, but I was able to recover it by following an HP guide for a different scanner and just trying it on this model.

I resolved this issue by

  • putting the scanner into recovery mode
  • loading the latest firmware downloaded from the HP site under Windows OS
  • Power cycling the scanner after the firmware was loaded

HP has a guide for placing ScanJet Pro 2000 and 3000 series devices into recovery mode that also works on the HP Scanjet Enterprise Flow N7000 snw1 device

This guide also provides a driver url that must be installed to recognize the scanner while in recovery mode and hooked up to the computer via USB.

Windows 10 and Windows 11 must be rebooted and Driver Signing disabled to install this driver. Once the driver is installed you can launch the firmware updater as Administrator and it will install the firmware. My device made a noises like it was loading a sheet. Once the firmware updater program closed I waited a few minutes to let the device process the firmware then I manually power cycled it by pressing the power button. It restarted and asked me the initial setup questions for language, wireless, etc..

When I loaded the recovery driver, the name of the device wasn't the same as the HP guide images show but it did show up as a imaging device so take this into note if doing this procedure yourself that the device names may not be identical.

This procedure may work for many other types of HP ScanJet's so give it a try before throwing your device out to e-waste or buying a new one.

Good Luck
