HP Scanjet Pro 3000 S2
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I cannot get my Mac to recognize the HP Scan-jet Pro 3000 S2.  I receive the message Waiting for the Scanner then the error: (com.apple.imagecapture error 4294957375) (9921).  It receive the message Waiting for the Scanner.

 

Apple support tells me I need the 64 bit version of the driver, but I cannot locate it.

 

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
Follow HP Easy Start below to download the latest HP Essential Software and HP Easy Scan for your printer:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

Additionally, ensure your OS is are up to date by clicking the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update.
If any updates are available click Update Now to make sure the latest OS updates are installed, this is crucial for HP Easy Scan to work as expected.

Thanks for your response, however the problem still exists.  I contacted Apple Support and after extensive PD, they put me back to HP to resolve. 

 

Here is what I have done.

  1. Verified the iOS Version -  Catalina Version 10.15.5
  2. Granted HP Easy Start Full Disk Access (Security and Privacy setting)
  3. Attached the scanner directly to the iMac (generally I use a USB Hub), with a new USB cable
  4. Removed the scanner drivers - within HP Easy Start, used the option to remove Software.  This completed scessfully
  5. Removed all references to HP Scan Jet by opening hidden files and removed from User directory
  6. Attempted to reinstall Scanner drivers with the HP Easy Start downed with the link provided.  When I attempt to install the software, the installation stops at Installing.  After 30 minutes, I cancelled the installation.
  7. Attempted to contact HP Tech support at 800-474-6836 but the VRU would not put me through to support (when the option was chosen, it disconnected me 3 times (very frustrating).

Any thoughts or additional recommendations would be appreciated.
