Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a recurring problem with my HP scanner, and I'm hoping someone here can offer some advice or solutions. My newly purchased HP scanner frequently freezes or crashes while I'm using it, and I'm not sure how to resolve the issue.

Here are the details:

Issue Description:

  • The scanner works fine initially, but during the scanning process, it often freezes or completely crashes.
  • This issue occurs inconsistently – sometimes after scanning a few documents, other times almost immediately.
  • When the scanner freezes, I have to restart both the scanner and my computer to get it working again.
  • The crash sometimes also affects the scanning software, causing it to become unresponsive.

What I’ve Tried So Far:

  1. Restarting the Scanner and Computer: This temporarily resolves the issue, but it recurs after a short period.
  2. Checking for Software Updates: I have updated both the scanner firmware and the scanning software to the latest versions available.
  3. Checking for Conflicts: I have closed other applications to ensure there are no conflicts, but the issue persists.
  4. Reinstalling the Software: I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the HP scanning software multiple times.
