Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Hello,

Every time I try to use HP Scan app to scan a document, it crashes when I try to save to PDF.

I have:

Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Used the HP Print/Scan doctor - No issues found

Changed the directory the PDF is supposed to save to.

Rebooted the PC and power cycled the printer multiple times.

Uninstalled any additional app that might use PDF, aside from Adobe Acrobat

Every time, the result is the same. I launch the HP Print/Scan app>Click Scan to PDF>Save. After click on Save, window explorer launches for a moment, then they both crash.

The PC in questions is:

HP ProDesk 600 G4

Running Win 11 (24H2)

Printer - HP  Color LaserJet Pro M478f

Could you elaborate a bit on that?  Are you talking about this command?

dism /online /set-reservedstoragestate /state:disabled

No command, just before you click 'save' file you can see two checkboxes, one for OCR and the other for 'long term.. '. my app would constantly crash until i deselected that box.

btw - i've since learned that Mac has a native scanner app called - Image Capture.

I've tried it earlier today, needless to say it's way faster and more stable. I wont be using HP apps whenever possible.  Just very very akward UX all around; software and hardware alike.

Thanks for the reply!  I see, you're on a Mac.  This is crashing in Windows.  I don't have access to the client's machine at the moment, but I don't recall there being checkboxes for OCR and/or long term.  HP support claims this is a "known issue" but is blaming Microsoft.  And yes, I totally agree about the awful HP software.
