My HP Scanner page disappeared and now I have Windows.  How to I get my original HP scanner page back that goes with my HP Officejet 5745 printer and scanner?  Everything scans as a PDF and it is not the same page at all.  Thank you for help.  This happened after Microsoft IT tech remoted in to install my 365 on a new laptop.  I think my printing and scanning got switched to Microsoft and not the HP that I had before.  Thank you for any help and advice,

If the full driver printer software is still intact and only the "driver" pointing to that software is run astray, then you can fix this by adjusting Printer Properties to point the Driver at the HP installed software.

Printer Properties

 

 Windows 10

Settings > Devices > Printers and scanners

Right-Click on your Printer > Printer Properties > Tab Advanced

 

 

Windows 11

Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Select Printer >

Printer Properties > Tab Advanced

 

Driver = HP driver and not the IPP / Microsoft driver

If necessary, you can uninstall / reinstall the full driver printer software.

Reinstall the full driver printer software

 

The full driver printer software should be installed to gain access to the full range of Printing Preferences (print features).

Details / How-to / Examples 

 

Check / Apply Windows Updates 

 

  • Check / Install any pending Windows Updates 
  • If any updates are applied in Windows Updates, Restart your computer and log in

Next,

Uninstall existing printer software

  • Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
  • If your printer software includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
  • Restart the computer and log in.

Install full driver printer software

  • If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

 

Web Pack Installation - Open Web Page - Full Driver Printer Software

HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers 

 

  • Open the Web Page
  • Download, Save, and Install the software.
  • If using a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer, connect the cable when instructed to do so, near the end of the software installation process.
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
