I have been in IT for nearly 30 years and I've never seen such poor integration, I will NEVER, EVER buy another HP product.  We bought the HP DeskJet 4258e Printer / Scanner and downloaded the HP Smart App so we could scan / save documents.  Since our purchase this process has been nothing short of a worthless nightmare.  Basic printing options work fine but try to do anything else and it's not worth the time, effort and cost.  I have been trying to scan a simple, standard document for nearly an hour (and this happens everytime we try to scan a document) and it can't do it.  We constantly get error messages that the printer is not ready, so I had to reboot several times and then when it actually "scans" the document I either get an error message, a blank document (i don't know how that's possible) or it was upside down (again, don't know how that's possible).   

 

We will be looking for another printer / scanner immediately and I will NEVER recommend HP products to anyone ever again.

Printer Software: Ensure that any necessary printer software is installed on your device. This can sometimes be a separate package from the app itself.

 

HP Print and Scan Doctor: Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This software can help diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems by providing troubleshooting steps.

 

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can offer enhancements and better compatibility with devices.
