HP Smart App

We have a few users on our system with M477 all in one devices.  Up until today, they were able to use the HP Scan app, but now it seems to have moved to the Microsoft Store HP App.  We do not allow access to Windows Store.  Do you have an offline install file for the new HP app?  Thank you.

Sorry, no.

The HP App is available from the Microsoft Store under the name "HP"

Should you go to the printer's own Software & Drivers, even there the actual download / install comes from the Store.

At this writing, the HP Smart Application is still supported.

That will probably continue for a while, at least.

From your description, it sounds as if you might have administrative control of the users' machines and environment.

Perhaps schedule time for yourself to modify the access settings temporarily to install the new application, and then return the machine to the users with the restrictions on Store usage restored.

When I go to the device support page, there are no drivers or software listed for the M477.  HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477 series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

It does not make a difference for Windows 11 --

The HP App is offered but not other options.

You must obtain the HP App from the Store.

If you select Windows 10, there is still a full driver printer software listed for that OS version.

Interestingly, and perhaps good news, Windows 11 is listed as supported.
