Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

To improve the resolution of a fax you are sending from an HP Envy 5000 printer, you should follow these steps to adjust the settings for optimal quality:

  1. Access Fax Settings:

    • Navigate to the printer's touchscreen control panel.
    • Select the "Fax" icon from the home screen.
  2. Adjust Resolution:

    • Look for the "Send Now" option and then select the "Settings" icon.
    • Choose "Resolution" from the menu.
    • You will see several resolution options such as Standard, Fine, or Superfine.
    • Select the desired resolution setting. Note that increasing the resolution will improve the quality but will also increase the transmission time and potentially the size of the fax sent.
  3. Considerations:

    • For documents primarily containing text, the Fine setting is usually adequate.
    • For documents containing graphics or requiring higher print quality, opt for the Superfine setting.

 Hope this helps!
