HP Smart Scanning software bugs

Does anyone know when the next release of HP Smart will be made available - this current version is buggy - at least the previous version was usable.

The document, scanned for output GREY 150dpi pdf, is OK, but there are more bugs in the EDIT tools than in the Forest.   

- rotate image left or right and the image looks fine.  Press DONE and the resultant images is half a solid black, or green or red. Or at 300dpi I strips of yellow, red, two shades of green -  Every time you scan and rotate I get a different random colour or pattern of colours.   

- CANCEL the EDIT, which should return to the unrotated image/unaltered image, but it doesn't - the returned image has the random colours in ie its been changed/altered despite telling the s/w not to do so.

This never happened with the previous version. 

And will the memory leakage issue be fixed in the next update ?

This is a repeatable error, so I'm very surprised it wasn't picked up in testing.

Is it possible to get the previous version, that did work ? - the edit function in in the scan module is unusable.
