We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Scanned documents successfully before but today I get a message I cannot scan because the scanner is disabled.

Tried unplugging & plugging in the printer and rebooted my computer.  Tried the diagnostic & repair tool in the app but it was no help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Did not even know this function could be disabled.

If you encounter a message indicating that the scanner is disabled on your HP Smart Tank 7300, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:


Restart Devices:
 

  • Turn off the printer by unplugging it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug in the printer again and turn it back on.

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to the power source and your computer are secure.


Update Printer Firmware:
 

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can be found on the https://support.hp.com/us-en by searching for your printer model and downloading any available updates.

Reinstall HP App:
 

 

Check Scanner Settings:
 

  • Make sure that the scanner is not disabled in the printer settings. This can sometimes occur due to software updates or configuration changes.

Thank you for your response.  I actually did most of what you suggested.

 

I ultimately removed my old printer and driver, uninstalled the HP software and driver, rebooted the computer and reinstalled everything from scratch and the scanner is now available once again!
