I'm pretty confused right now.  My 9018 HpOfficeJet all-in-one is smarter than I am.  I get the same message, "the printer was unable to connec to the server. Try again later".  I've tried all the advice I can find online, no relief.

I was able to do it this way: (HP9015)

- on the printer go to settings

- Web Services setup

- Remove Web Services

- Yes (they say services might not work bla bla)

- Go back to main view, select Smart Tasks

- click Yes to restart

Then it reconnected and the error message disappeared.

I have an HP Officejet Pro 9015 and I can't believe how unstable the "Smart Tasks" feature it. It will work fine for weeks, then all of a sudden start giving me "The printer was unable to connect to the server" error messages.

 

I've tried turning Smart Tasks off and on again in Settings via the web admin. I've tried removing Web Services entirely. When I go back into Smart Tasks and turn them back on, I don't get a prompt to restart.

 

I am so incredibly frustrated with this printer. 😩
