I have a Officejet Pro 9022 all in one printer.  Never any problems scanning but recently while using HP Smart for a mixed single/double side and glass scan of multiple pages half way through HP Smart just dropped out and I lost all the scanned items.  When I go back into HP Smart it starts again as new everything is lost.  I have been given HP Scan and Capture App as a solution but it is much more basic and is not as flexible as HP Smart.  I suspect that a Windows change has upset the HP Smart software.  Anyone having this problem?  I am on Windows 11

Hi,

Please open the Microsoft Store and ensure your HP Smart app is up to date, also open Windows Update and ensure that latest quality updates are installed and check if that may help:

Additionally, let's try installing and using the HP Scan application instead, which does provide many control options even in compare with HP Smart:

Thank you for your comments and I have now loaded HP Scan application and you are correct it has more flexibility than HP Scan & Capture which is very basic.  I have done everything else including uninstalling HP Smart and reinstalling but the problem still exists with HP Smart.  As HP Smart is one of the selling features of HP printers and it was excellent up until recently I suspect that it is some change in Windows that has created the problem.  Is HP aware of the problem and is it intending to issue a software update to overcome the issue or is it just going to abandon HP Smart as it does not offer what it used to and just suggest using HP Scan?

Same problem here. I use HP Smart on a Mac Mini (2020) and I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 series. HP smart keeps dropping out after scanning 'automatically'. After the last page is scanned, the program ends and I lose all the scanned pages.  No specific error message. Seems that this happens after a recent update of HP Smart. Very annoying.
