Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I put several pictures on the glass of my HP Envy 5530. I use HP Smart App and I press scan. Then I use preview and it comes up with all my pictures on the glass. I use to be able to crop to one picture and just scan that one picture. Then I would repeat this process until each picture that's on the glass is scanned as an individual picture. Now I am unable to do this. Why?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

 

How you do this depends to some extent on whether you are using HP Smart Windows or HP Smart Mobile.

Both (Windows and Mobile) apps provide an "Edit" function and might do what you want.

 

Example - HP Smart - Windows

Place Items on Glass

Open HP Smart

Select Scan

Presets = Photos

Scan Area = Entire Scan Area

Output = Color

Resolution = 300 dpi

Click Scan

In Preview > select blue-circle-three-horizontal-dots (Edit / Replace / Delete)

Select to Edit > Crop > Custom > Move corners to match the content you want to keep in this scan

Click Done

Click + Add to add another scan to the current job...

Repeat the process until "all" Done  > Select next option > Print / Save / Share / Shortcuts / Fax
