HP Smart issue / Fax issue

Hi there.

Strangely, I can receive a fax on my print/scan/copy/fax HP machine (OfficeJet Pro 6960) without any problems, except when the fax was send thru HP Smart application, either from mobile phone or other PC 😕

When a fax is send thru HP Smart app, the fax machine rings normally, then tries to connect and breaks up after a minute or so, with the message "fax receiving fail".

After three times I receive the message in the attached picture:

As I said, there is not a problem if a different fax machine sends the fax, only thru HP Smart app.

Tried different solutions from the internet, to no avail.

As far as I understand there must be some bug in the HP Smart application, or dysfunction when two HP products try to communicate?

Very strange.

Does anyone experienced similar issue? Is there a solution for that?

Hi,

HP Mobile Fax have nothing to do with your printer and does not use the analog fax capabilities of the printer, this is a cloud fax service offered by the HP Smart app, not using the printer in any way (currently offered as a free trial and will require a fee in the future).

Please consult below support document, also evaluate its FAQ section and make sure you use the correct international fax number within HP Smart, not a local number:

Thanks for your replay, but I am not sure I understand.

What I try to do is use my phone to send a fax page via HP Mobile Fax to a fax machine (in this case: to my HP OfficeJet Pro 6960), to no avail.

Is HP Mobile Fax App not supposed to send fax pages from mobile devices to fax machines?

Well, if so, then it is not sending.

My fax machine receives faxes without problems from other devices, only not faxes send thru HP Mobile Fax App.
