How to install and use HP Smart to instal and send FAX from a PC.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

This printer includes a "fax" component (fax hardware built into the printer).

Generally you do not use HP Smart to configure the Fax.

You can use either the printer itself (small printer display panel) or - if supported on your printer - use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to configure the Fax for send / receiving faxes.

It is true, though, that you can perhaps configure the Fax setup using EWS and that you can access EWS from within HP Smart.  "Sort of" the same thing, I guess.

What else?

IF you are referring to using HP Mobile Fax, this is a "different animal".

HP Mobile Fax can indeed be accessed from within HP Smart.

Mobile Fax is a subscription model application and can be used to "send" faxes from your device.
