As someone else said:  This problem still exists.  HP Smart, isn't.  Even more annoyingly, it opens a browser window to buy ink.  

I will try to control my rage...  This same problem occurs on MacOS, too.

 

Even more annoying is the useless non-answers from HP that you have to paw through, before you notice the "there hasn't been any activity. Just re-ask the question"   **bleep**.  That just shouldn't ever happen. Ever.  These products and the software just aren't that complicated.  If HP wants to sell ink, it needs to provide quality products and software, and actually fix problems.

I will try to control my rage. I've been using HP Smart for several years. I use it to scan stuff. I scan stuff several times per week. All of a sudden it is asking me to create an account. It also  wants to set up a new printer. Why on earth would I need to set up a new printer? Why is it trying to force me to setup a new "account"?. This used to just work. The HP Smart (apparent} update is a buggy. I just want it to work like it did up until just a few minutes ago. Why do I have to go through this ?
