HP5255
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

09/09/21.  I have an HP 5255 with Windows 10 Home on a Samsung laptop.  All was working fine until a few weeks ago (approximately 08/03/21) when the HP Smart began displaying the  Error Code (Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0100) when I try to use the HP Smart  Scan function.  When I select Scan in the HP Smart app, I am prompted to enter my username and password. Then the  screen "thanks me for my patience" as it "transfers information", eventually  I get the error. It doesn't matter whether I log in or not, nor whether I create an new account log in.  I have uninstalled everything HP related and reinstalled and the same thing happened again. I have tried the HP PrintDoctor, all other troubleshooting suggestions and contacted HP.  Since my HP is a little over a year old, the service rep wanted money before she would look at "my" problem.  That's insult to injury.  The feature worked fine until early August and I am now extremely frustrated and disappointed in the lack of service.  I have even tried installing the android version onto my cellphone and I get the same error just after logging in. HP has been no help.  Does anyone have a way to fix this?

Please uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Does this happen only with the HP Smart App?

Please try scanning from the usual Printer drivers and let us know if the same occurs:

Let me know if this helps.
