We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I'm having a problem with the MFP Network Twain Scan software. It generates the error shown in the image below.

Some details about our setup:

 

  • The MFP (HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525) is connected to the network.
  • The TwainScan software is installed on a Windows 10 workstation and we use it to scan over LAN.
  • The above  scan error started to appear after I upgraded both the printer firmware and the TwainScan software.
  • Printer firmware was upgraded from version 2308209_000570 to version 2309021_581897.
  • TwainScan software was upgraded from version 1.0.305 to version 1.0.683 on the Windows 10 workstation.
  • TwainScan was installed on an Administrator user account.
  • Switching windows accounts will cause the software to stop functioning on other user accounts. We get the same error as in the attached image.
  • Scanning from the same windows account which TwainScan was installed sometimes works, but then fails intermittently.
  • TwainScan 1.0.305 was stable and never had scan errors, only version 1.0.683 started to show issues.
  • I can not downgrade TwainScan to 1.0.305 because it does not work with printer firmware version 2309021_581897.

 

These TwainScan scan errors kills productivity in our office and we need a resolution. We would like to install a slightly older versions of TwainScan, but the download page for our product ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-enterprise-500-mfp-m525/5118272 ) only lists version 1.0.683. Is there a way to find older versions of this software?
