HP Envy 6555e All-in-One Printer

I scanned a doc and selected HP cloud.  I do not know where it went.  It does not seem to be in HP cloud.  Do I need to set something up first for it to be stored in HP cloud?

Hi @Mary13579

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining that—it's genuinely frustrating when a scan seems to vanish into thin air. You're absolutely right to wonder if something needs to be set up first, and yes, there are a couple of things that need to be in place for scans to successfully land in HP Cloud.

Here’s how to get it sorted:

☁️ Step 1: Confirm HP Account Setup

  • Make sure your printer is registered to your HP account.
  • Open the HP Smart app and sign in.
  • Go to Settings > HP Cloud Services and check if your printer is listed and connected.

📁 Step 2: Enable Web Services

  • On the printer’s control panel, tap Setup > Web Services.
  • If it’s not enabled, turn it on and follow the prompts to connect.
  • This allows cloud-based features like scan-to-cloud and ePrint to function properly.

📤 Step 3: Set Up Scan-to-Cloud Destination

  • In the HP Smart app, go to Shortcuts.
  • Create or edit a shortcut for Scan to Cloud.
  • Choose a destination like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive—HP Cloud doesn’t store scans directly unless linked to a cloud service.
  • You’ll need to sign in to the selected service and authorize access.

🔍 Step 4: Check HP Smart History

  • Open the HP Smart app and go to Recent History or Activity.
  • If the scan was successful, it may show up there with a link to the destination.

🧠 Step 5: Try a Test Scan

  • Scan a new document using the same shortcut.
  • Watch for any confirmation message or error.
  • If prompted to align or update, complete those steps to ensure the scan goes through.

Let me know what you find or if you'd like help linking a cloud service. We’ll make sure your scans stop playing hide-and-seek!
