Hello, 

 

I have a Dell PC laptop and HP2540 series Deskjet printer. It could print. But, when I try to scan, it says "Scanner communication cannot be established. I tried "HP Print & Scan Doctor 5.7.3,"  in the process, it made scanner to scan.  Then it says "Window Image Acquisition  error." The following items are checked with a green check mark:  Recommended Update,  Device Manager,  Driver Check, Device Status. Then it says "Some issues were found and fixed with your product,"  and the following items are also checked with a green check mark: Registry, HP Scan. Windows (WIN) Scan is the only item not checked with a green check mark. But, at the bottom it also says "Window San Issue Fixed." I clicked "Test Scan," it still says "Scanner communication cannot be established. "

 

Please help.

I found the solution to my problem.

By un-installing and re-installing printer driver, I was able to fix the problem and scan normally again.

 

Follow this link,

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2041634-1713099-16

and select the following.

Troubleshoot scanner connection issues (Windows).

 

You can either watch the video or read the text to un-install and re-install printer  driver.

I found the solution to my problem.

By un-installing and re-installing printer driver, I was able to fix the problem and scan normally again.
