Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I just installed the software for my scanjet 2400 today. This software came with the machine, and the machine was bought  very long time ago. Unfortunately when i try to launch the HP Director so I scan some documents, I am told the Director can not run because of compatibility issues. My OS is windows 8.1 pro. I would appreciate it if anyone here can help with drivers to make the HP director compatible with my OS or recommend another app I can use to operate my scanner. I prefer a free app. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Most 3rd party applications will still require you to have some sort of driver, usually a TWAIN driver. Support from HP directly will be near zero as you are using a dead OS and likely the scanner has reached the end of support life. Looking at the support site the only software shown for 8.1 is an update and the scan and print doctor troubleshooting utility. If the original install includes a twain driver you can likely use Microsoft Scan and Fax utilities.

Thank you for the response.

I am finding it difficult to locate a compatible twain driver. Kindly assist me with a link.

Best suggestion I can provide is this https://support.hp.com/th-en/drivers/hp-scanjet-2400-digital-flatbed-scanner/297429

This 64bit Windows 7 driver is compatible with the Windows Imaging Acquisition system. Have a look at the description. Provided link with NO GURANTEES as I have no way to test and confirm if this will work or not.
