I now have the issue with Catalina.  I've followed all of the suggestions including "empty the trash" and reinstalled.  Now the scanner doesn't work at all

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

I'd suggest you try scanning using the Apple Image Capture. Refer to "Scan with Apple Image Capture" from this document.

 I now have this problem with Catalina.  I followed all of the instructions including "empty trash".  After reinstalling the HP Easy scan it is worse.  Please help

Image capture worked for me Asmita.  

 

Do you know when HP Easy Scan will be supported in Catalina?

That's great! HP and Apple are working on restoring HP Easy Scan functionality in macOS Catalina. The new update to HP Easy Scan will resolve this.
