HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

When I scan a document using easy scan or the the menu from the HP printer 8620, it saves as a PDF to my Macbook as a blank page.  If I save as a JPEG, it works.  Apple says this is a bug in HP software - not working with new release OS Ventura and HP needs to fix this.  Anyone know the status?

What’s the fix? I have the same issue.

called Apple.  They said it was an HP issue and HP needs to update the "easy scan" app.  I called HP - because my printer is not under warranty, no one at the customer support line could help me and I could not find anything online.  Seems like HP either doesn't care or isn't addressing this.

Apple did give me the workaround.  if you go to system settings and call up printers / scanners.  When the dialog box opens up, click on the printer you want to use for scanning.  Then another dialog box pops up and hit "open scanner".  The next dialog box should connect to scanner and use that to scan the documents on the printer.

Same problem here.

With an officejet pro, scan to computer sends blank PDFS under macos Ventura.

I called Hp and they told me it's a problem on Apple's side... so funny.

I may call Apple again to see who may actually fix it.  In the meantime, several workarounds - (a) I have been using "scan to memory device" - so the scan is going from HP to a USB stick in the printer.  Printer does not need to communicate to MacBook.  I then plug USB stick into MacBook and transfer the file to laptop; (2) I have also been using "scan to email" - which has worked.  I get the PDF via email on my laptop and download into my folders.  Extra steps that should not be needed if either HP or Apple worked to fix this.
