HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdw

Hi everyone, check this scan below done with my HP laserjet 3302 FDW:

O0RhDbI

You see the faint gray background box behind every letter?
That is not present in the original document, it's an artifact of the scanning process.

It's really bad because then it also shows up when I print a copy of the document,

makes the copy look poor and unprofessional.

I'm wondering:

  • Is this a known issue with HP scanning software/hardware?

  • Or is it a common limitation with scanner technology in general?

  • Most importantly, is there a way to fix this? I’m aiming for clean, photo-quality scans.

  •

This device costed around €350, so I expected much better performance in this regard... so I'm utterly disappointed in this brand right now.

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Use HP Scan > "Cleanup background"

and use 300 dpi

Save as PDF 019-2.png

I hope this helps.

Thank you!

The result is still not as pefect as I would have hoped (meaning a copy that cannot be distinguished from the original), but is a big improvement compared to what I had before, so it counts as a solution

There is also this setting here:

Save as PDF 014-1.png

Activate “Auto Exposure”

This setting further improves the scan if the original is too dark in the background.
Lettering is also better delineated.
