Ok so here's the real deal. I've had 6 of these printers fail with a black or white screen within 6 months of ownership.

Each of them are at different client locations. None of them are on surge protectors. The first one failed with a white screen. A firmware update did not fix this. HP replaced this unit and it's been working since. Sometimes the replacement drops offline while on wifi. A restart of the printer will usually fix this.

The next unit is going on being replaced for the third time in less than 6 months. The first one at this location had the white screen. HP replaced it. 3 months later this replacement had its screen die and go black and 5 seconds later in the event log, the scanner failed. W T F HP?!

I have uninstalled KB5015807 and this doesn't make a difference as the failure is in the printer or the main control board is shot.

I went to roll back the firmware as I could not get into the EWS from the HP toolbox. I literally uninstalled the HP drivers and only then was I able to connect to the EWS through the HP Smart App. Go figure. Coming back to the firmware, I'm not able to find a previous version outside of 2008A. Thanks HP. If anyone has any previous versions please let me know. I would like to roll it back a version or two to rule this out. It's weird that everything worked for two months, the user presses copy on the tiny screen and bam, it dies. No boot logo and no boot loading bar.

HP Support was notified of this latest failure on 07/22/22 and I have reached out numerous times about where my "Next Business Day" replacement is and I got broken English from the chat agents and no tracking number.

Not for nothing but what the f is wrong with these printers? I'm seeing constant white screen issues and failures everywhere but surprisingly in this forum.

On top of all this bs, HP cancelled my Partner Account as I apparently didn't buy anything from them. Well when nothing's in stock at Ingram Micro and D&H, I'm going elsewhere to buy what I need. My customers cannot wait. The initial process took almost a month to get approved via one email a day with their ridiculous "support" agents. I tried to re-register again last night for the n'th time and the webpage has errors that prevent the application from submitting, and the "Get Support" link on the right side of the page doesn't work. I've reached out to all of my distributors pleading if anyone has a contact at HP I can speak with. Crickets.

I cannot lose any more business to HP's shortcomings. Literally 15 minutes ago I ordered loaners from Brother and Xerox to replace the remaining failed printers since HP is dragging it's you know what's across the ground.

The part I'm most pissed about is that for each printer the customer or myself paid fully price. $549 at the time and it should have come working right out of the gate. Now each time I return and get a refurbished replacement I'm 100% certain that I'm getting someone elses previously broken machine. So while the display may have been fixed on that printer, who's to say 5 months from now a roller or the drum doesn't fail? So I take the extended warranty and HP basically gave me a defective POS and I now paid $650+ for them to jerk me around while they try to find the issue.

I should be asking for this now but if this unit fails for anything the third time around I'm going to demand another model from a different line.
