HP officejet 8620, I can print, but not scan any more. HP TWAIN SCAN gives error, it's said the component is used several times. Scandoctor suggests restarts or reinstallation, but that didn't help

Not sure.

One idea...

Assuming HP Twain has been installed with your Full Feature Software,

You are (or have been) using HP Twain Scan either as a separate call or from within another software (for example, Irfanview),

then

The HP Twain scan software might be hung (stuck, lost in the process list),

How?

Possibly as a result of Windows thinking it is running the software "more than once" in the process list

OR

Perhaps the process is running in a closed (minimized) instance.

If either of these are true, then

Finding and closing the running instance (in Windows)

OR

Restarting the computer should kick the process free.
