HP Officejet 3830 series AIO
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The model of my printer is; 3833. In the HP printer assistant app, on the print, scan, fax tab. When I click on the fax setup wizard,it opens a user/password dialog. For the user name it has "admin" and it can't be changed,so I type the password that I setup and use to login to HP community website and it tells me incorrect password. How do I login to this setup or manage fax settings to get my fax to work? Thank you,and please be specific so I will understand how to fix this.I'm not very technical.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you try to just press "Enter"?

Believed that there is no password.

Thanks.

Hi,

Is the printer connected to wireless for your print and scan?

If it is, can you try to go to the Embedded Web Server?

From the printer assistant > Printer Home Page (EWS)  Example below

EWS.jpg

Under EWS, go to Fax.

You may have a prompt that it's not secure, go to "Advanced " and proceed to the IP address.

Configure the Fax settings from there.

Hope that helps!
