I'm desperately trying to set up scan to email and  having a tough time and when I try to call or get support the system says my serial number is not accurate and that is not true.  I really need to speak to someone please in support to assist

Incorrect serial number

 

The serial number can show as incorrect when the device (computer / printer) is out-of-warranty.

 

HP Support accepts hardware repair requests for products still in Warranty.

 

Regardless,

Setting up Scan to Email is not included in the standard hardware contract.

 

Submission and Contact options, including the optional purchase of an HP out-of-warranty subscription / contract are included later in this message -- scroll down.

Scan to Email

 

Should you wish to ask for help from the Community,

Include your Printer model and the type of "Scan to Email" support you seek.

What?

For example, some printers support SMTP Scan to Email (or Email Servers) as set up in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

 

Some (Most) regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online.

 

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

 

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

 

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

Thieves are waiting - do not just hand out your privacy to their keeping.

Out-of-Warranty devices might be eligible for an "after warranty" contract.

 

Be aware that these types of contracts are not the same as the original HP Warranty, nor are they like an HP Care Pack contract.
