We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Lenovo Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I scan to a memory device the HP7645 shows that it is scanning, reports that it has scanned to the memory device with the Scan number; but there is nothing on the device.  I have used three devices (sticks) with the same result.  It scans OK to email and to the computer.  The Print and Scan Doctor gets positive results and I see it displayed.  But nothing appears on the memory device.

@roundo

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

What format are you trying to scan in? It only supports JPEG and PDF.

Let us know.

Thanks 🙂

I don't understand your question.  I put printed documents either on the plate or in the feeder.  I press the button for either PDF or JPEG, either Black or Color.  That makes 8 options.  I have tried all 8.+ three different memory devices.  I get a message that the scan is complete and a number.  But there is nothing on the memory device.  Yet I can successfully scan to a fax and to the wireless linked computer, thus the scanner is working.  One of the memory devices has a light that indicates when it is connected and it lights up when inserted into the printer and it causes the blank screen to activate.  Thus I know it is properly connected to the printer.  Obviously the scanner iks not connecting to the device.  I have run the HP "Doctor" and "Fix Scanner" to no avail.

Let's try updating the Printer Firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Let me know if this helps.

The printer is online and I had the auto update activated.   I rechecked and the report is the updates are current.  Is it possible for an HP technician to go into the printer and correct the problem?  This printer had been on a standby basis for quite some time and I reactivated it because my newer HP 6830  printer stopped printing and I received messages to realign or clean the print-head; but when I press the buttons to do it nothing happens, No on-line advice worked and I understand that print-head is not removable or replaceable.  Is on-line help available for either printer?  Otherwise I'm going to have to use one printer for printiing and another for scanning to a memory device.

Let's try formatting the USB drive. When you format the USB drive, select FAT32.

  1. Right click My Computer and select Manage.
  2. Open the Device Manager and find your USB drive under the Disk Drives heading.
    ntfs device manager
  3. Right click the drive and select Properties.
  4. Choose Policies tab and select the "Optimize for performance" option.
    ntfs optimazer
  5. Click OK.
  6. Open My Computer
  7. Select Format on the flash drive.
    ntfs system

Let me know if this helps.

My Windows 10 OS computer computer days my Drives are current.  It also says the Memory Devices are working OK.  But I reformatted them using FAT32.  I also reformatted an SD card that I had used with a USB adaptor.  The results were the same.  All the lights on the HP 7645 printer and on the Stick and the screen  message indicated the scan was happening and was completed.  But there was nothing on any Device.

My reasons for believing the HP 7645 is the problem is that  all of the Memory Devices (sticks) accept scans with the HP 6830 and the SD card accepts scans with an HP OfficeJet 6500A to which I also have access.

Can HP do anything on-line about this (and the print-head problem on  the 6830)?  If not, my it appears that the cost of using a local repair service would be more than a new printer.

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware issue.
