Product: HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer

I downloaded and installed the full software and driver package for my M1536dnf printer but HPSCAN.EXE.

 

Where can I get the scanner software?

Please use HP Scan Extended software to scan:


                     https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi


Once it's downloaded and installed, for Windows 10/11:


(a) Hit Win key,
(b) Scroll down to HP group/folder,
(c) Double click "HP Scan Extended"


You can put a shortcut on Taskbar or Desktop

Thanks for the reply. I was able to download and install the HP Scan Extended software. But when I tried to run a scan, it would not connect to my printer and errored out saying "Scanner communication cannot be established."  I was able to download other scanner apps off the Microsoft Store and those worked and were able to connect to my printer scanner. I'm not sure what's going on, but thanks for your help.

Any thoughts as to why other scanner apps can connect to my scanner, but HP Scan Extended cannot?
